In the late 70s the Lord Rodney's Head in Whitechapel had a fine selection of spotty arsed slappers, mostly Scottish if my memory serves me.it was well known at the time that a pound got you a hand shandy in the karsi. A pint of Double Diamond and a wank. What a way to spend a lunchtime.

The hairy Axe wound is now a hipster pub.
Brown's and the rainbow sports bar are still going, as is that proper dingy place in Whitechapel. Oh and metropolis. I heard.

Used to nip the Griffin for whenever it was anyone's birthday in the office.
Didn't Browns used to have an MC, who would announce each bird up next like it was darts!
I also think there used to be about 3 o4 4 such places all within cumming distance of Browns.

Yup. I played the Peel a few times but I must have played The Grey Horse tens of times at least over 20+ years.
Used to enjoy a bit of footie banter with Richard who ran it latterly (he was Chelsea). I think he's taken over the music at the Oak now, but I think they're really about blues bands, not noisy rock bands!

They had a rehearsal room in the basement of the Peel that we used from time to time. The strippers used to be practicing their routines upstairs sometimes.
Ended up rehearsing somewhere else as our minds were never really on what we were playing there..

used to go in one in the city called the Crown & Shuttle. very tiny boozer with a pool table in the middle of the floor which the girls put to good use. I nearly wrapped a cue round a bloke's head one night when he tried to set up a game just as the girl was about to start :.)
